I’m With You
I saw a message come through from you, but it was blank. Would you mind sending it again.
I’m With You
OK…I had to sleep on this one. Would you be willing to work with me on some lifestyle changes? One more question....Are you a Christian?
I’m With You
Hi John — Sorry for the length, but lots to share. I hope we can be friends.
I contracted MRSA 10/2007 at the fitness facility I manage. I have had 13 boils and develop sty like outbreaks on a regular basis. I have developed an excellent team of medical professionals that understand MRSA and do what is within their ability to keep me healthy--General Practitioner, Infectious Disease Specialists, Immunologist, Rheumatologist, Dermatologist, Gynecologist, and a Respiratory Therapist. You may consider requesting a similar team (nix the ob-gyn…lol) to help keep the MRSA from aggravating everything possible to ware your immune system down...that is how it wins…I will never lie down and let it win!!!
Will we ever eradicate MRSA? My medical team is adamant that about 5% of people who contract it can eradicate it…not what you wanted to hear and most certainly not good odds, but there are worse illnesses. I know it doesn’t feel that way when you are fighting severe fatigue, headaches, difficulty breathing, nervousness, and oops there it is another outbreak. Please don’t give in to the depression as it appears you have so much to live for; family, masters degree-what an accomplishment, and a long life ahead of you…yes, a long life!!!
For the first year after I contracted MRSA, I thought it was going to kill me. But, here I am, about 70% better than last year. I decided to logically defeat this superbug by studying everything I could find on it. Along with my medical team, these websites have been the most knowledgeable and a source of strength for me: www.medlineplus.gov; www.staph-infection-Resouces.com; http://drugresistantstaph.blogspot...
I am not sure of what all you have tried, but here is what has been boosting my health:
1) Only prescription I use “Mupirocin” by swabbing my nasal passages every morning; 2) 1 – 2 Epsom salt soaks-hot water for 30 min-head to toe; 3) Exercise-low intensity rebounding on trampoline with bounce, light jog, march, scissors; 4) Weight training to keep your muscles strong; 5) Relaxation techniques-Tai Chi, Yoga, stretch class, etc.; 6) Only use Tea Tree Oil soaps; and, 7) Nutrition-I know you don’t want to hear it but it does make a difference…get this book, “Health & Weight-Loss Breakthroughs 2009 Maximum Immunity,” from the editors of Prevention. Excellent book!!!
I hope some of this helps boost your spirits…keep me posted.
Thumbs Up
Hey John,
Thanks for your thoughtfulness. I took my son to Johns Hopkins Pediatric Dermatology yesterday and basically they told me to chill out, that he had nothing on his body to indicate MRSA. Whew! They wouldn't do a nasal swab even though I asked. The doctor indicated there is no evidence to correlate the MRSA colonization in the nose to that of the skin. Maybe you know better. But as long as they are telling me I'm crazy, I know i'm being a good mommy.
talk to you soon.

Close MRSA
I initaly aquired CA-MRSA on my wedding anniversary, at a Disney World resort spa. This occured in May of 2008. I've had several MRSA outbreaks, primarily in my groin region with boils, carbuncles, rashes, and pimples. This medical condition simply frustrates and scres the hell out of me ad my family. My wife was diagnosed as a MRSA carrier, but after antibotic treatment tested negative for MRSA. I fear for my wife and toddler aged daughters safety fromthis dreaded bacteria's symptoms.
Treatments
- Bactrim DS Somewhat Helpful
- Hibiclens Somewhat Helpful
- Melaleuca Tea tree oil Somewhat Helpful
- The oil is beneficial for clearing up minor MRSA outbreaks but burns a great deal on more intense related MRSA outbreaks. It smells pleasent and is usefull in the nostrils on pimples rashes et al. It is not a cure for MRSA but can relieve some of its sysmptoms.
Close Autism / Autism Spectrum
My nearly three year old daughter appears to be on the spectrum. Her therapist believe she is a high functioning autistic child, or perhaps, extremly learning delayed. My daughter has made huge progress in language skills, et al..but she still seems to me, to be on the spectrum with some behaviors. I love her dearly, both her mother and I do.
