36, DIAGNOSED WITH NARCOLEPSY OVER 8 YRS AGO STAY AT HOME MOM OF THREE. NOT ON MEDS (ADDERAL) NOW DUE TO NURSING A BABY. STRUGGLING WITH LACK OF ENERGY. PLAN TO WEEN IN THE FALL AND GET BACK TO NORMAL. ANYONE HAVE QUESTIONS REGARDING NARCOLEPSY....I'VE HAD ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT GO ALONG WITH IT.

Close Narcolepsy
I've been diagnosed for over 8 yrs. I hate how it affects every part of my life. From the moment I wake up....which is very hard and to the naps I have to take, the precautions I have to take while off the meds. I have lost short term/long term memory because of it as well.
Treatments
- Adderall Working / Worked
- name brand adderall works but generics kick in too fast and wear off too fast leaving me drained and exhausted to the point I don't wanna take the second dose. It makes me have lots of energy and I get lots done. Not taking it right now because I'm nursing my baby.
- Provigil Working / Worked
- It kept me awake but I was very mellow the whole time and had no boost of energy.
