I’m With You
We are on it for life. We had a DVT in 1977 and another in 1992. So we are on it forever, but we take Warfarin (the generic). We also wear compression stockings (the knee highs). We also do lots of walking. Have a good day. Pepper09mos

I am a lot like you. DVT in 1/07 and still have problems with swelling and pain and no doctors care. Finally I got referred to a lymphedema therapist who I saw yesterday and I'm very excited that someone is going to help me. In 1 hour she showed me ways to improve my problems with self massage and wearing compression shorts with a knee high sugical stocking so that it's not so hot(as panty hose) but prevents fluid buildup. It has made me hopeful again.

Close Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
I got my DVT in 2006 from HRT. Ran from my groin to my calf. 5 weeks of bedrest. 10 days of Lovenox & 8 months of Warfarin. Vascular surgeon stopped Warfarin. Now take baby asprin & wear compression stockings. Have lots of pain throughout leg. Surgeon says I need new stockings & should replace them 3 every 3 months. Says new one should help pain. Also was diagnosed with Chronic DVT

Close Heart Attack
My husband of 35 years had quintuple bypass surgery 12/07 & is a totally different person now. Was very sweet & helpful. Now he's always miserable, cruel & abusive (physically, mentally & emotionally). His taste for foods has changed dramatically. Don't know if I can continue to live with him.

Open Migraine Headaches
Got migraines from age 16 till now (55). 4 years ago started taking a beta blocker (Inderal 40 mg) at night as a preventative med & it works. If I get a headache & take Esgic Plus right away, sit in a dark quiet area for 15-25 minutes, it will go away. Years ago, migraines ruled my life. I had them almost every week for 3 to 4 days.

Never had trouble sleeping until menopause. Then in 2001, I couldn't fall asleep & if I did, I'd wake up every few minutes all night every night. I was like a zombie.

Open Macular Degeneration
I was diagnosed with MD in my left eye on 6/30/09. Caught it right away. Eye doctor put me on I-Caps MV. Said it keeps it from getting worse. I hope so.
