      45 years old...just diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. I did not no I had it. One night out of nowhere I woke up choking on my vomit that was coming out of my nose and mouth...I was scared to death and had no idea what was going on. Went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. I am currently sleeping on an inclined bed & not eating anything after 5:00 pm + taking Pepsid AC. I have not had another choking incident since.

      Treatments

      Pepto-Bismol Working / Worked
      Also sleeping on an inclined bed. Experience is good...but if I don't sleep inclined acid runs into my throat.
