I'm a California native who's a lucky woman! I'm married to a wonderful man who's been incredibly supportive. We have a young son who was dx'd with autism at the same time I found out I had Parkinson's. To round out the family, we have two cats.

Hey Laura! How's it going? Hugs
SENDING A BIG HUG YOUR WAY. HAVE A GOOD DAY.
I began to notice my hands shaking while I typed in June 2006. I thought it was nerves. I'm a typically confident interviewer, and had three job interviews in which my hands shook so much, I made light of it not knowing it was PD. I'm seeing a doctor at UCLA's Movement Disorders Clinic, Dr. Farag. A team of doctors from UCLA diagnosed me as having idiopathic PD. In addition, I seem to respond atypically to some of the drugs I've been prescribed so now my dx is "atypical idiopathic PD".
We began to notice our son doing odd things when he was 2-1/2 YO like walking on his toes. At playgroup, he would wander off and once I returned to work, our son's caregiver apparently let him do whatever he wanted so he'd wander aimlessly picking up & carrying sticks. I knew there was a real problem when he would stand in our backyard staring at a tree, and not respond to his name. I thought he had gone deaf. In Nov 2007, I received the dx and researched autism. Now, it's time to thrive!
