    • About Me

I am a social worker, I work with the geriatrics and love it. I have been married for 3 and a half years, have a great family and friends. I feel that i should be more grateful for what I have. I am really working on that. It is so hard at times, because of all the pain and challenges I am faced with on a daily basis. I am excited to talk with others who can related to me.

You know I think bruxism plays a huge role in our pain, I have been wearing a store bought night guard and it has been helping my jaw pain and so has the muscle work. If you look at the Photos in my Photos section you will see that the referred pain from where the muscles knot up are right in the face. If the muscles knot up then they affect the nerves. Neurologists are trained to think in terms of holistic therapy they just throw medicine or surgery at us. When I walk in to have my muscle work done, the young lady asks me what level of pain I am in and where my pain is. The second my head is in her hands she can find the knots in my muscles. She is the one that asked me if I had bruxism and it was the first time that I heard the term. The biggest change for me is that I felt like I had an icepick in my eye for eight years and that pain has been gone for a month now. The easiest way to check if you grind your teeth at night is to see if you have ridges inside your mouth in between your teeth. When I do and they are really pronounced, my check is usually very swollen. So I hope you end up with a good team & that you find pain relief, SOON! take care, Holliday

Wow, that's amazing that the Neurosurgeon is seeing you, I thought he would recommend a doctor. Keep me posted, I guess you already saw him? I hope he has good "bedside" manners and that he handles you with respect and good care. Sometimes surgeons are heavy handed from my understanding. And I hope he orders a "thin slice MRI". Please let me know how it goes & take care, -Holliday

what ever your dr thinks that won't interact with anything else you are taking. your pharmisist would also be a good source for checking that too. jady

i think swelling can go hand in hand with pain. like a toothache, throbbing etc. are you able to take ibuprofen or any thing like this over the counter stuff? it helps me sometimes. jady

It worked for me I was pain free on it. However this drug turned my body toxic the damn neurologist never monitored my levels and as a result I was very close to death. BE CAREFUL on these types of drugs make sure you are being monitored. They are very strong.
      Crying Working / Worked
It at times makes me feel better at times makes the pain worse!
