Close Arthritis - Juvenile
My 10 year old daughter was diagnosed with JRA several years ago. We are told that her case is one of the "difficult" ones in that she has not responded to standard treatments. Her longest period without an active flare up was four months in 2007. Before that time and since, we have not been able to keep the chronic inflammation under control.
Treatments
- Clinoril Somewhat Helpful
- Seems to have helped somewhat in conjunction with Cellcept and Enbrel for a short time but not currently keeping syptoms under control.
- Methotrexate Not Working
- Caused liver function tests to become eratic so drs recommended discontinuing. Also caused mouth sores and stomach issues.
- Cellcept Somewhat Helpful
- Seemed to be helpful at first in conjunction with Enbrel and SulindacClinoril but no longer effectively managing her symptoms.
- Humira Not Working
- Did not change her status and these injections were far more painfultraumatic for her to receive then the Enbrel. Complained of a burning sensation for almost a half hour afterward in the arm near the injection site.
- Enbrel Not Working
- Seemed to help for awhile at least in alleviating pain symptoms but is not keeping the swelling and stiffness under control.
