Close Bipolar Disorder - Teen

I have been bipolar since the thrid grade. I've been on Lithium since then but lately it hasn't been working. My rages have been getting worse and my mom has started threatening to send me to the behavorial center. I also take Abilify and Ativan for stress (as needed). I realy need to talk to other people who understand why I act they way I do.

Treatments

Ativan Somewhat Helpful

I take it when I'm stressed out and it definitely calms me down in that area.

Music Working / Worked

My music really gets me to a place where I can deal with what's going on in my life.

Pets Working / Worked

My cat is the best stress reliever! Just petting her calms me down after a rage.

Talking Somewhat Helpful

When talking to my friend or my doctor, it works. When talking to my mom, she just gets me more angry, and it doesn't work.

Lithium Not Working

Used to work but now is less effective in controlling my moods. When we up the dosage it makes my hands shake but when we lower it it doesnt work.

Biaxin Not Working

Well technically it did work but I had a really bad allergic reaction to it so now I cant take it at all.

Close Military Families

My dad has been in the army my whole life and he's currently preparing to go to Afghanistan for the FOURTH time after a trip to Iraq (five middle east tours total). Sometimes I just really miss him, because he lives in FT. Bragg and I live in FL.
