About Me
I am married with 2 pembroke welsh corgi dogs and 2 cats. I started having shocks of pain in my cheeks when I was 8 yrs.old. But just thought it had to do with the fact that I also have Spina Bifida, and hydrocephalus. Started getting horrible migraine like headaches in middle school but everyone thought it was stress and hormones. The headaches always would come and go, they just gave me pain meds. When I was 35 my neuro surgeon decided to do a ventriculostomy for the headaches, no change, finally I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia 22 years later. FINALLY!!!

I just read "A Hard Man to Follow" and it was beautiful. I felt so happy reading it and it warmed my heart (I love the way you write). A Dad being great - what a gift & now your husband. I have letters to my mother from my real father about me and he seemed very sweet (there are about 30 - he begged her to let him be a part of my life but she took off on him & didn't answer them) & I want to believe that he would have been like that - a nice dad. I guess girls need that to know what to pattern for their children (oops - I grew up w/ disfunction) but I am so glad that you have the life you have (w/ Hook ;o). I am going back to read more stories.... I hope you are doing okay. You have been MIA for awhile and so I am starting to worry a little. Close Trigeminal Neuralgia
I have had excruciating headaches since I was in middle school and electric pains in my cheeks and was just diagnosed with TN a month ago at age 37

Close Chronic Pain
I was born with spina bifida, have had 8 surgeries for that, diagnosed with hydrocephalus at 14 and just got diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia at 37 but have had dibilitating headaches and shocks for 22 years. I am 37, married with 2 corgi dogs and 2 cats, live in NC.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Not Working
- It didn't work for my pain or depression
- Flexeril Working / Worked
- I take it at night to relax my muscles so I won't wake up with a headache
- Heat Working / Worked
- works a little for headaches and backaches and neck pain
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- I only take it after surgery. It sort of wooks
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- I am on lyrica now for my headaches. It is working but the side effects are difficult. I will do anything to get out of pain!
- Methadone Working / Worked
- worked for back pain before tethered cord surgery 2 years ago
- Naproxen Working / Worked
- It saw my pain and ran for cover
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- no affect
- Topamax Working / Worked
- I take it both for siezures and trigeminal neuralgia it seems to work

Open Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
I am a married 37 yr old female born with spina bifida. I developed hydrocephalus at 14 but didn't need to have surgery until I was 34. I have had 8 other surgeries for other problems. I was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia in Dec. of 08 and have just had the diagnosis of CFS with low thyroid and vitD. I have been on many pain management drugs but now am not taking any narcotics.
