    • I’m With You

      From dailyfooddiaryuser June 14

Hi! Cool about the calls and the video conf! I won one last year and gave it to a sweet little blonde newly wed...I am sure my son did not mind...I mean getting a vid conf from your mom is so "g@y" as he would say....LOL

He is doing fine, sending a care package w/beef jerky on Monday.

I got to IM with him through facebook a week or so ago...the Adm wanted to check his fb and had it brought up...it was great bc I happened to be online at the time and it was a true surprise like I was talking to a ghost or something...I was a wonderful treat. He had to go check on his laundry and we got signed off...nothing since them except a couple of funny e-mails. It is great to hear from you! I have been on navyformoms.com there are groups for you on there as well! I should go to another ship's meeting...I will wear my flower avatar on a badge! lol Take Care!~Nancy

Checking on that...ok, haven't heard from son yet, but, overseas deployments are usually 18 months a part...so, for them to schedule a 5 monther in May was unusual at any rate. It was a five month so it is not considered a regular sea duty trip which affects higher pay. They did cancel the family day trip...bummer. Hang in there Mom...its like your heart is ripped out when they leave, but, the next time you see him you will understand that he had to grow up. My son is happier than ever, well adjusted to Navy life and has a girlfriend who is on the ship which is great because they have common ground...so to speak. ;)

Hi, I am a military girlfriend. I have been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years and he will be leaving soon for our first deployment together. I am scared as to what his ship will hold for him and how we will change while he is gone. Thanks for any advise. ~ Cat
