Husband was sent to a resort in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday. He was within the 20 top sales reps in the US, so they sent them to a resort for 5 days. Spouses/Family not allowed, which we were both upset about. However.... the kids and I moved in with my parents and I was able to stop drinking! It's the stress of our house that makes me want to drink. Plus, associating my husband with drinking with me. I want to stay at my parents until I get better, and he hopefully gets better, but I know it's really going to rock the boat. Oh well... until I figure that out... I feel excellent right now!
Three days on Naltrexone (June 12, 13 14th - didn't need it) and have only had one beer all three days and do not have any urgent cravings. My husband seems to think that me not drinking is going to fix everything. HA! I feel like a trainwreck, and I am picking up the pieces and heading on a different set of train tracks than my husband. My outpatient evaluation is tomorrow. I am praying to kick this for all eternity!

Hi Renee, its very difficult to quit without active support from your husband. Mine is a moderade drinker but is very supportive of my abstinence and says how proud he is I've quit. If a meaningful heart to heart doesn't work you might try joint counseling (sp?) My husband also was in sales which involved a great deal of social drinking, so I know the road ahead will be tough. Try to keep in mind how great you feel and how well you function sober and what a great example you are to your children. Best of luck in your journey. Donna
