I have been on Gleevec close to 5 months now and am very happy that all my counts have come down and I am in clinical remission. The side effects stink: bones hurt and eyes tear a lot. Doctor put me on Celebrax for my aching bones and I will see an ophthamologist on Tuesday about my eyes. All in all I am very grateful to be where I am.
I was diagnosed with CML on Monday. I must admit that the diagnosis threw me for a loop!! I am now kicking myself for not asking more questions ... but, I will be prepared for my next doctor's visit.
Started Gleevec yesterday. Don't like the idea of taking this stuff, but don't like what might happen if I don't take it.
I very much want to be in touch with CML people.

Get yourself a small notebook and write down things that cross your mind, no matter how silly you might think they are. I wrote a lot of stuff down! LOL! But it's better to get ALL the questions answered so that you don't have those lingering thoughts called "what if's". I take it every time I go, and there are always new things I want to talk about.

I decided to call the doc this morning to get some answers to things that are on my mind. There was a lot of confusion when I was diagnosed on Monday ... long story short: doctor was not aware of report with diagnosis. (I am just a little worried about the office staff)
At the suggest of Abocage, I am keeping a notebook with things that cross my mind. Also, I started a folder to keep copies of reports, bills, receipts, etc.
Make it a great day, everyone!!

I feel stronger emotionally and mentally, but physically I feel like crap!! Hopefully, things will get better in the days ahead.
