Just wanted to thank you for your encouragement and support. I somehow managed to fight this addiction for one more day and stayed away from the casino. Tomorrow is going to be another battle, but I will do what I can to get through it. I would hate to end up in the casino and not be home when my boyfriend returns from his trip... hopefully that thought alone will keep me away from gambling for another day. Hope you are having a great (gamble free) weekend! Hugs and thanks again, Rachel

I know all too well what you mean about feeling moody. I had a bad case of that most all last weekend. I did not go to the casino, which was rare. I felt the pull several times and it was very hard to shake it off. The weekends seem to be the hardest time to resist for me, perhaps it's the same for you. I don't know what the answer is. Being engaged in some other activity is a distraction of sorts. Consider planning at least one non-gambling source of entertainment this weekend & I believe it will help. The weekend will be here for you know it. Keep the Faith.

Congrats on 13 days, hope today got easier for you. I saw your posts in the discussions, and yes, temptation is everywhere. You'll find it easier (not easy mind you) as time goes on to see the ads and all for what they are....tools the casinos and other gambling places use to lure you in and take your money. If they get your self-esteem and pride, that just means you'll keep going back. I know how hard it is to separate yourself from "friends" even if it is for the best for you to stay away for a while. I work with two people that gamble all the time, as it has been months since I gamlbed it is much easier for me to hear about it now. I am sorry this hug turned into a novel. I wish you well with your recovery.

My story is typical. I started off going to casinos for entertainment purposes only. Then I found myself going a few times within a week and spending excessive amounts of money.

      Treatments

      Distancing Working / Worked
Trying to work through an addict alone never works. I still find myself going to gamble when I know that I cannot handle it.
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
When I work out it helps me relax and not think about going as much.
