    • About Me

I was Diagnosed with OVAC in July 2008.I have been married for a bit over 5 years, our anniversary is December 31st, New Years' Eve.My husband has been my sole mate, best friend, and most importantly my rock during this tough time. We built our dream home 4 years ago on a heavily wooded aprox 2 acre lot outside the Houston city limits. I love the spring and fall here, but summer's I consider to be our harsh season. I have a beautiful 27 year sold son that I deepely love and respect. He's grown into a good and compassionate young man. I have a huge lot of friends and family that help to share my agony but also to share my joy.

    • Close Ovarian Cancer

I was diagnosed with Stage IIIC OC in July 2008. I have finished 9 treatments and scheduled for #10 next week. It's been rough but my spirit is good. I would love to hear and share stories of struggles and success.

      Treatments

      Carboplatin Working / Worked
My CA125 numbers started at close to 3000, they are coming down. Hit a bump in the road last month with a pleural effusion. I'm not sure if the cause is due to the chemo drugs or not. Side effects have been tolerable, although worse as time goes on.
      Taxotere Working / Worked
Doctor switched to Taxotere because of neuropathy in my feet and hands. I also must have a Neulasta injection a day afterward. The Neulasta along with the Taxotere & Carboplatin make me very ill. Side effects for the first 2-3 days are nausea and a lot of joint pain. It's difficult to do much of anything. It then wears off slowly & after 7 days I'm starting to feel better.
