Hi ~ wow ~ something about your girls giving you your shots is so very impressive ~ heckuva support system you got there :) Are you far from Columbus? My niece w/ 3 girls also used to live there. I think there is more to it that you & your ex both have MS than is known right now ~ I truly believe some day there will be a known connection as opposed to just 'the odds'.

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Relapsing-remitting MSHello, I'm LJ, 43 years old, I teach Health, and Special Education at a High School in Ohio. I was diagnosed 3 years ago. I'm divorced and have 3 girls, ages 13, 11, and 9. My girls give me my once a week shot, and I've been lucky enough to keep livin' the dream without any huge lifestyle adjustments. Two years after I was diagnosed, my ex-husband was diagnosed with RRMS too. (What are the chances of that?) I'm thrilled to find this forum, I was using google for an MS question.
Treatments
- Avonex Working / Worked
- Avonex seems to be working, in the past three years on it I have only had one relapse and that was 1 and a half years ago. The flu like symptoms are not nice, but it beats the alturnative. Because I teach, I take my shot on the weekend before I go to sleep. I used to take provigil for fatigue, now I use ritalin and it gets me through my day. I do not use the ritalin during the weekend so it is more effective when I need it.

- I used to use it for fatigue, it ended up making me more tired, I switched to ritalin.
