Close Endometriosis
I was diagnosed with Endometriosis when I was 17 and have suffered with the pain ever since.
Treatments
- Aygestin Working / Worked
- I use this only when i need to stop a period (for my wedding day/honeymoon and for holidays etc), it works well but when you stop taking it the "after period" is horrendous!
Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I was diagnosed with PCOS in early 2008 and am finding it difficult to come to terms with it all. I am desperate to have a baby but have simply been told to go home and lose weight!?!?
Open Back Pain
I had an accident in work in 2003 that exacibated Degenerative Spondylolithesis, at the age of just 20 it was difficult to cope with, I have had fusion at L4 and L5 and although a lot better, i am still in a considerable amount of pain daily.
Treatments
- Acupuncture Not Working
- Gave me headaches so had to stop treatment.
- Bedrest Not Working
- Resting in bed usually makes the pain worse, especially at night.
- Cortisone (Injection) Not Working
- The injection was horrendously painful and did not work for me.
- Epidural Injection Not Working
- Did not work for me, injection hurts a lot!!
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- Heat does help ease the pain but only whilst the heat is there, take it away and the pain comes back as bad!
- Hydrocodone Not Working
- Dihydrocodeinone does not even touch the pain.
- Morphine Not Working
- Makes me sleepy but doesn't ease the pain.
- Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- Helped me to get off crutches but doesn't really ease the pain.
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- Similar to heat therapy, using a TENS works whilst the unit is on, but take it away/turn it off and the pain comes straight back.
Open Infertility
Type: EndometriosisI have been trying to get pregnant since I miscarried in 2005. I have PCOS and Endo.
Treatments
- Basal Thermometer Not Working
- My temp doesn't change at all
- Folic Acid Too Soon to Tell
- I have been taking this for about a year and nothing happens
- Ovulation Predictor Kit Not Working
- They are always negative
Open Miscarriage
I had a missed miscarriage at 14weeks pregnant in 2005. I have been unable to concieve since and it is killing me!
Treatments
- D&C Working / Worked
- I had to have this proceedure to take the baby away. Not the most pleasant thing to have to go through but a necessity.
