My family, Nascar and Daily Strength. No wait, I must change that.... My family, THEN Daily Strength, then Nascar. That's more like it!! This site has become extremely important to me. I have found such wonderful friendships here. Better friends than I have had my whole life and I'm 47 years old so that's really important to me. I am not sure how I made it through a day with my chronic pain without this site. I have found others so much worse than I am that took me under their wing and made me feel like everything would be ok, that I am FINALLY understood, and that I am loved for WHO and HOW I am. I am extremely grateful to everyone here, most especially my BFF.

Close Chronic Pain
My name is Renee. I am a 46 yr old mother of 3 young men and grama of 11. I have what my insurance calls "only lower back pain with radiculopathy". I have an extremely hard time walking, sitting, riding in a car, standing,you name it, I sometimes need helpwith it. My fiance even has to help me off the toilet sometimes. Quality of life for me is not good. I have had many injections with only short term relief (most recently hours). I have DDD, RA, fibromyalgia & bursitis in my hips.
Treatments
- Hydrocodone Not Working
- My doc has me on 6 Vicodin ES per day... doesn't help much at all.
- Nerve Blocks Somewhat Helpful
- I have had this treatment many times. The most recent only gave me 30% relief for 18 hours.
- Epidural Injection Somewhat Helpful
- I have had many of these also. The most recent did nothing to help.
- Nerve Blocks Somewhat Helpful
- The first one I had helped alot. The second one helped for about 8 hours.
- Rhizotomy Not Working
- Just made me worse.
- Spinal Cord Stimulator Working / Worked
- This works WONDERFUL!! They had to take the temporary out for 30 days before the permanent implant can be done. So life is looking up!
- Spinal Cord Stimulator Working / Worked
- This is giving me an extreme amount of relief... 50-80%. It's not 100% but I knew it wouldn't be,,, but the relief I do get is great. I'm like an all new "RENEE"
Close Fibromyalgia
I also have degenerative disk disease, am borderline RA and have bursitis in my hips.
Open Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
I have had troubles since I was a newborn so it's kind of old news for me. Other things more relavent now but IBS is still an issue
Open Back Pain
I have DDD, bulged disks and arthritis in my spine. I am never pain free.

- Darvon Not Working
- This has never worked for me.
- Epidural Injection Not Working
- I never got more than 18 hours relief.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- I am on 6 per day. On the not so bad days, i get more relief but never get alot of relief.
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- Just made me hurt worse.
- Spinal Cord Stimulator Working / Worked
- This is amazing!! I get the permanent implant next month.

I had a hysterectomy when I was 34 yrs old. I've been on hormones since but having all the symptoms still. Hot flashes just about drive me crazy!!
Treatments
- Estrogen Patch Somewhat Helpful
- They never stayed on me very good, but I can't keep a band-aid on either.
- Premarin Somewhat Helpful
- It used to help but not anymore.
Open Smoking Addiction & Recovery
I've tried quitting several times. Obviously hasn't worked so far. I have a really bad back and am always in pain so I haven't been able to quit.

- Life's crazy, I have alot of back problems so this hasn't worked so far.

I never realized there were so many different types of arthritis. I have a few of them!

- When combined with all my other ailments, injections haven't helped much.

- I haven't been on this very long, I think it might be starting to work.

Open Breakups & Divorce
Marraige over in 2002, met someone in 2002, still in that relationship when I got divorced in 2003. That relationship just ended a few months ago. Have trouble sometimes getting through an evening alone but love being alone... weird huh?
