Thanks for the heads up about the meds. luckily I don't have them but 2 or 3 days usually prior to AF or used to be anytime I had a hormone switch like prior to ovulation especially. Because I am a stay at home wife, I usually just try to sleep them off, also any kind of a PMS med like Pamprin Extra Strength will usually knock me out so I can sleep them off.

I have hormone related head aches too, usually through my right eye. I've goggled them, and I understand they are related to a hormone imbalance. What did your doc say about them? Any info. would be helpful. Thanks!

Hey I just read that your name is Krista---that's my name too. I don't hear my actual name often--I hear Kristi or Kristen but not Krista. Well I just thought it was kind of neat that we have the same name!!!!

I'm 32. I've had menstrual migraines for several years. I have at least a week each cycle when I get severe migraines.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- I avoid alcohol during my week to get migraines.
- Caffeine Somewhat Helpful
- When I combine it with two Aleve. Sometimes gives me rebounds
- Excedrin Working / Worked
- Works, but I get rebounds sometimes.
- Imitrex Somewhat Helpful
- I took Imitrex for a few months, but doctor would only allow me to take two/week and that is not enough for me. Had burning sensation and pressure in chest
- Naproxen Working / Worked
- Sometimes two Aleve and a cup of coffee work
- Topamax Not Working
- I had no tolerance for this drug. I took it for about a month with no relief, and also felt depressed, and had restless sleep and nightmares.
- Tylenol Not Working
- This does not help me AT all
- Zomig Working / Worked
- I used this for a year before switching to Frova. Worked well. I like the frova better though
- Frova Working / Worked
- This works the best but even some months is not enough or doesnt work well if I dont take it in time
- Elavil Not Working
- Just made me sleepy. Did not work as preventative
