About Me

My name is Shawna. I was diagnosed with SLE about 7 years ago. My lupus affects many things but I have gained control of it for the most part. I find the hardest part is that things change all the time and I can go from feeling great to not being able to get out of bed over night. I struggle with the medications, doctor visits, lab visits, strict diet, and mood swings but I guess it’s a small price to pay. My fiancé and I are expecting our first child and I am very nervous. I am taking things slowly and watching my stress levels. I have been off my medication for two weeks now, and I am in a lot of pain but still feeling ok.
