It's enough to make me sick Mood
Friday, November 6, 2009

I just got a notification from one of four organizations that have sent me notices that they're paying Medicare claims for me.  Apparently my stay up at the hospital in Las Vegas cost SOMEBODY over $148,000!!!!!!!!  That's above and beyond over a dozen doctors and laboratiories that I have *NO* idea who they were or what they did, or never met with, but they filed for and got paid some huge amounts as well.

If President Obama wants health care reform, he really, really, REALLY needs to take a look at what government involvement in health care SO FAR has gotten to be such a mess - and he wants *MORE* government involvement???

Something needs to be done about all this but it is NOT going to be "solved" by more government involvement.

Take a look at everything the government sticks its nose into.  It *ALWAYS* ends up costing waaaaay more than it should, delivers waaaaay less than it promised and is horrendously complicated to the point it bogs down so badly nobody gets helped the way they need.

What prompted this?

I spent nearly a month getting CAT scans and biopsies and stuff before, during and after my amputation, and then when I got released still managed to get some sort of infection that ended up needing surgery to drain and a couple of months of aftercare by a visiting nurse and now, I feel the identical sensations I had felt from the first infection, starting again.

Instead of FINDING THE CAUSE, they merely treat the sympton or the result, ending up costing everybody else a bundle more for tests that don't really provide answers.

I'm pretty sure that I know the problem.  Years ago, I had developed a whopping case of epididymytis, an infection of the tube that connects the testicle to the urethrea in a male.  That spread to the testicle which got worse to the point it had to be removed.  What I am pretty sure happened is, somehow the end of the epidimus re-opened.  Thus, every time I urinate, a tiny little amount leaks out.  Of course, having left a little organic tube, it can't go anywhere.  It's just IN THERE.  So it tries to go where gravity takes it.  Before my leg was amputated, that's where it could most easily go.  But, at the knees, fluid paths pretty much end.  So, any solids in the urine pooled, and the liquids pretty much got absorbed.

Now, AFTER the amputation, every time I "go", it feels like the bottom of my foot that's been removed tingles like when the circulation returns after having been blocked.

The doctors assured me, OH no, that's not possible.

Then why, 9 months later, do I *STILL* feel that irritating tingling burning sensation when there is no WAY a nerve from my foot could have been cut near enough to my urethrea for me to FEEL it, and why does it quit after a while instead of staying steady as most phantom sensations do...

Well, next time I end up in the E.R. - since my doctor thinks this is just a whacko crackpot notion - I think I'm going to ask somebody to *LOOK* at the various CAT scans and sonograms and other stuff that happened to include the groin area and see if they can see something odd going on.

I'll bet they do.............
