Close Miscarriage

In December 2007 we found out that I was was pregnant.However,on January 19,2008 I miscarried at 9wks.I wanted to miscarry naturally but my body would not rid itself of the HCG hormones.As a result I had to have a D&C.On Father's Day 2008,I learned I was pregnant again however I miscarried shortly after. I had another D&C.In October 2008 my gyn doctor referred me to an gyn oncologist who suggested I received methotrexate and lecovorin injections daily to dissolve abnormal placental tissue.

Treatments

D&C Working / Worked

I've had two D&C's because my HCG would not fall to zero. The second D&C was determined unnecessary (after the fact) as there were no products of conception in my uterus in an u/s.

Grief Counseling Working / Worked

I've recently started going to a support group for families who've experienced a miscarriage/stillborn/loss of child. It is a very comforting experience to know that other women have felt the emotional and physical challenges that I have. I don't have to do this alone.

Methotrexate Somewhat Helpful

Still determining if this treatment has been successful to lowever my hcg levels. I had blood drawn weekly to make sure they are decreasing.

HSG (Hysterosalpingography) Working / Worked

It wasn't such a bad experience for me. The staff was really gentle and they didn't prolong the experience. There was mild cramping but it was cool to watch the dye being injected on the screen. There was some bleeding afterwards but not much.
