About Me
I am 40, f from just outside Leicester. I'm a PE survivor, eesh that sounds like I escaped from a manical sports instructor at school! I have a good sense of humour when I'm not being paranoid about clots taking my body over, hubby said I'm a clot anyway but what does he know I'm looking forward to making new friends and sharing stories how we beat these nasty things.

Interests
My 3 dogs, 2 goldies and a gsd, writing poetry, reading. Witchcraft, tarot, anything mystical and a sucker for a spooky film. I like all kinds of music but am currently besotted with James Blunt although Queen will always be the best group ever. Fools and horses is the best thing on tv, supernatural is also brilliant and back for a new series.. woohoo! sexy guys chasing demons, what more could a gal ask for? :o) Think I better leave it there xx

That's great! I really think you are going to enjoy getting around on the scooter. My brother-in-law got one and it has really opened up the world to him again. I am steadily improving. Didn't realize how long the journey was going to be. I have good days and bad ones. I have some heart damage that is getting better. Not back to work yet. Anyway, you take care and go have some fun racing up and down the sidewalks!

Close Pulmonary Embolism
I am a 40yr female from Leicester and had a massive pulmonary embolism at the start of december. It was so large it almost blocked the blood supply to both lungs. I was thrombolysed at 4.30am on a weds morning and spent 11 days in hospital. Since coming home I've had 2 chest infections, I'm on warfarin for 6 months and then tests to try and find why this happened. I look forward sharing with ppl who understand the highs and lows of this journey. Karen x
Treatments
- Heparin Working / Worked
- This was used in hospital via infusion until my INR was stable on warfarin
- Coumadin Working / Worked
- Ive only been on this for 6 weeks and my levels have been up and down because I have to keep taking antibiotics. Ive not noticed any side effects Im currently taking 3mg daily.
