I've decided that 2009 is going to be my year to achieve better health, a better attitude and a better financial situation. It's a lot to plan on, but I'm going to take it a bit at a time so I don't get overwhelmed.

I’m With You
hi, Cathie; just read your post in the "Stroke Survivors discussion grroup and thought I'd send you a friendly hug. We seem to have a lot of similarities regarding our stroke history. Mine was from a ruptured brain aneurysm which caused my brain to hemmorrhage. When i woke up, I was paralyzed totally on my left side. Thank GodI'm right-handed! Anyway, I just thought I'd say hi and see if you'd be interested in becoming friends. Please take care, and God bless!!! Love always,

Close Stroke
I'm 53. I've had 2 strokes. The one in 2000 was caused by a tiny blocked blood vessel on the right side of my head. Due to that, I have very limited use of my left hand and I use a cane and wear a brace because of drop foot. The 2nd stroke was in 2006 and was in my brain stem. This has affected me in a variety of ways other than weakness or paralysis.
Treatments
- Aggrenox Working / Worked
- I've been taking Aggrenox for about 8 or 9 years. I was not prepared for the 2nd stroke because I thought Aggrenox would prevent it. However, I now believe the 2nd stroke might have been a lot worse if I hadn't been taking it.
