DH and I are raising my 2 grandaughters, Emilie, age 7, and Ella, age 4. John (DH) is a painter and I work full time as a visiting nurse. Other gramma is involved and a huge help. Dad(my son)has them about once a week and is good with them, but that's his limit. He's wanted all the rights of adulthood but none of the responsibilities since he was about 15. He dropped out of high school because i guess he thought he knew everything, and with no education he's not about to lower himself to take any job that involves any kind of work and doesnt pay at least 50 grand/year. Needless to say, he's not working, and it doesnt look as if he ever will! Kids mom is in and out of jail for drug related crimes......she hasnt called in> 6months.

Close Grandparents Raising Children
my husband and i are raising out 2 grandaughters, age 7 and 4, due to a pathologically irresponsible son who got invoved with a drug addict(supposedly "in remission"). We have been the legal guardians for the past 3 years.
Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionJust starting my third major depression. First time, 1983, too Pamelor short term and it did the trick. Second time, 1999, peri-menopause-stayed on Paxil til this past Jan, when I weaned myself off with only minor discomfort. Bad idea, as my husband and I are raising out 2 grandaughters, a 4 and 7, with very little help. Anyway, I've felt myself slipping this last month, and now the old "hand-wringing, pacing, what should I do" feelings have come back, so I knew it was time to go back on Paxil
