This is just a quick buzz by the farm, to make sure everybody's staying in line. I've been crazy busy, and there's some more of the same coming, so I'll be scarce some more.
First off, the wedding was amazing. Everybody left saying it was the best wedding ever, and I have to agree. It was a multi-day affair, with guests arriving Friday afternoon, and hanging around until Sunday morning. I was the designated driver for Sam's parents and brother, down the treacherous, winding road, so we had plenty of bonding time under duress. Karen and I hosted a dinner on Thursday, for both families, the a BBQ at the wedding site Friday, and a formal dinner on Saturday, after the wedding. I took the Ehrlich's out for a hike, with Maggie, Mark and Sam's dog, and we had another dinner at our one and only Mexican joint on Sunday. So, Lots of time with the new in-laws. My ex-wife stayed here for 3 nights, and we remained friends. Photos can be found at:

I've also been hiking. Last Friday, I hiked up to Heart Lake in the morning, before hiking with her parents in the afternoon. The day before, we had a torential downpour and cold temperatures, so there were clouds around the mountains, and mist over the lakes. Absolutely gorgeous. Photos at:
Then yesterday, I made another go at 10,000 feet, and was sucessful this time: 10,500 feet. I thought I'd be saving a lot of miles and wear and tear if I went another route, but still ended up doing 9.5 miles. The first leg was a leisurely stroll, and fortunately, easy on the body in the end. It was 1.7 miles, with a 1000 foot elevation gain. The second part picked up considerably, at 3 miles and 2500 foot gain. Coming down was a body crusher, and I could barely hobble around when I got home in the afternoon. I've pretty much recovered by now. Pictures at:

Now, will these links work?
I'll be back around next week, after I've returned from WA. I hope you all are doing well, and stay that way.
Blessings.

Not surprisingly, the links didn't work, so here we go again...

Lovely wedding pix - looks like a good time. Castle Lake looks mysterious, like a scene from a movie. And I think my husband (a geologist) would love the hike to Helen Lake with all those volcanic landforms. Thanks for sharing.
