Checkup Mood
Friday, August 21, 2009 | A General Update story

My yearly checkup is on September 1st.  Starting to feel a little stressed out about it.  I guess that never goes away.  I am feeling well though and once it's over again for another year, I can breathe a sigh of relief.

This will be year 2 (post treatment) for you, isn't Jackie? This is a huge milestone. Your risk of recurring is slim after this. (from what I have read)
Don't be worrying your beautiful little head off girl! You look and feel fantastic.

Two years ago Mood
Saturday, June 6, 2009 | A General Update story

Two years ago today my life changed forever.....

I was told that I had Cancer.   Sometimes looking back on that day, I don't know how I got through it.  Then I remember that my wonderful family and friends helped me.  They were positive and reassuring and never let me down.  I kept a positive outlook because I knew that it was a big part of my healing.

Having Cancer made me more afraid than I have ever been in my life before.

Having Cancer took away the safety and security I have always felt in my life.

Having Cancer made me feel different from people who have never gone through it.

But.......

Having Cancer made me realize that I have the most wonderful family and friends in the world.

Having Cancer brought some wonderful new friends into my life who have dealt or are dealing with Cancer now and we will stay friends for life, since the bond of sharing this disease does that.

Having Cancer made everything in this beautiful world more precious to me.

Having Cancer and surviving has made me a very lucky person.

Your words are so honest and lovely. Isn't it amazing how the worst news you could possibly hear "made everything in this beautiful world more precious".

I raise my glass (of ice water...lol) to you and thank you for being such a great source of support and comfort when I needed it most. Here's to many MANY more years for you to share your compassion and love.
