I have to tell you that my gs who was born at 2.9lbs has had chronic back problems for the past 7 years. They diagnosed spinabifida occult which affects one vertebrae and told us at the age of 12 that he w/be in chronic pain the rest of his life. He has lived with the pain since then. We tried physical therapy and occupational therapy which did nothing for back pain but did help his lungs and upper body which were underdeveloped because of his low birth weight and gestation. The other day we saw an adult neurologist because gs is now 19. He looked at xrays taken at age 12 and showed us where gs has three slipped discs which are causing the pain, not Spina Bifida. These films are 7 years old and no one ever showed us that! Now, we are ensuing on a treatment plan to help him. It sickens me because throughout Jr High and HIgh school he was so criticized for his pain. He was "faking" to get out of school work! I am so mad at this time and trying to keep focused on getting him help he s/have had 7 years ago!
No one can truly understand your back pain unless they have been through it. I truly hope you will find a way to get relief, at least some. You probably already know it but I had accupunture for torn ligaments in my knee after months of phsycial therapy which gave minimal temporary relief. After resisting, I finally had the needles poked in me and I returned to my doctors office skipping! I have not had limitations on that knee in over a year! My gs took it also and had some relief on back, but not continued effects like i had. Just a thought as I'm sure you w/do anything to be relieved of pain.
Ray of Sunshine: I'm wondering if you have exclusivity on OUR president. As a senior citizen I can tell you that the effects of OUR president and the democratic leadership (or lack thereof) is already having an effect on seniors and their insurance. My Medicare Advantage plan has already been either cut or premiums increased because of this proposed health plan. I am working with an agent now to find a plan that will give decent (not comparable) coverage and hope to keep the additional expenses down to $200 a month over what we have been paying. At least for the present, you still have the right to chose another doctor if you are unhappy with diagnosis or treatment. If this plan passes, you will no choice. The reduced help Medicare funds will not allow things like hip or knee replacements for many starting 1/10. EVERY insurance company I have spoken to has said the same thing: "If you are a senior citizen, you are screwed" if this plans is put into law. So, when you're waiting in line or refused treatment, remember you voted for it. -

I don't know anything about how the insurance works for you but this sounds dreadful, getting part way through treatment for something that is so debilitating. I do feel for you and hope that you can get some relief soon. I went through this for years until a few years ago when I had two ops. Keep focussed on the grandchildren and keep your chin up.

Sara has been on Claritin, Zrytec 5 my, benedryl, Allegra, Zrytec 10 mg, she had a rare reaction to Nazo Nex so we won't do that one again until after puberty. She is on Zrytec 10 mg and Veramyst, when bad benedryl is add to that too. She still has reactions at times so that is why the allergy testing.
