I have Transverse Myelitis, which is often misdiagnosed as MS. Because the treatments and symptoms for my disorder are so close to MS, I volunteer with the MSAA and wanted to be part of your group.

- I did PT on my own after my TM diagnosis to recover my fine motor skills.
Open Breakups & Divorce
The wild unicorn boy, as I prefer to call my ex husband, annonced to me one evening after almost 8 years of marriage that we needed to talk about our relationship. He wanted out, he was done and there was no talking about fixing it. Amazingly...I was ready too, but that hasn't made the healing any easier.
Treatments
- Music Working / Worked
- I've found that music sometimes helps me work through many emotions. Different music for different moods.
- Pets Working / Worked
- I got custody of the cats...my boys. They have been the best thing for me in the world during the healing process. Unconditional love is often what we need most as we struggle with the rejection of divorce.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- My girlfriends were FURIOUS when they found out and rallied around me. They were angry on my behalf while I focused on getting moved, a new job and rebuilding my life. I only allowed myself to deal with the grief and anger later.
- Talking Working / Worked
- Talking to friends, family, sometiems even strangers has helped me gain understanding that it really was not me in this case.
- Time Working / Worked
- Age old saying that time heals all wounds is true...they just never mentioned how much time. Some scars run deeper than others.
Open Migraine Headaches
I've had headaches and migraine headaches most of my adult life. More recently my doctor thought a headache I have had might be related to the Transverse Myelitis I have...but the MRI didn't show anything. Head still hurts on the left side just below the temple...going on 2 months now.
Treatments
- Excedrin Working / Worked
- Works sometimes if I notice the headache coming
- Imitrex Working / Worked
- Hated the nasal spray, but it was instant relief. The pill takes a little longer, but does the job.
- Naproxen Somewhat Helpful
- Only works for other types of headaches and not as well as other options.
- Tylenol Somewhat Helpful
- so-so
Open Cervical Cancer
I have HPV and had a LEEP Jan 5th. The results came back as CIN3. I saw my OBGYN today to confirm the results and discuss next steps
