Close Osteoporosis
I'm 62 and was diagnosed with Osteo at 50. I've had bad reactions to treatments and learn more every time I go to the doctor's or a health food store. I am confused and upset. I now am at great risk of a traumatic break. I want my life back. There's conflicting information out there re: calcium and magnesium. I also have GERD.
Treatments
- Boniva Not Working
- 3 week headache following the infusion
- Calcium Not Working
- Recently found out that with GERD, the calcium is pulled from the bones so the 2,000 a day I was taking wasn't helping (2 yrs)
- Forteo Not Working
- I was on it for 4 months before told to get off. Seems there's evidence and a link to bone cancer (in rats) that if a family member has bone cancer, it could occur. I'm adopted. 4 mos. into treatment I found out that bone cancer killed my biological dad and his sister. Doctors took me off.
- Fosamax Not Working
- I have GERD.
- Miacalcin Not Working
- Continue to get worse over time regardless of Miacalcin.
