Journal Entry for March 9, 2009 Mood
Monday, March 9, 2009 | A General Update story
Well I don't know where to start since it has been awhile since my last entry. This is the first time since my surgery 3/05/09 that I have been able to form complete thought and tolerate sitting up for more that 5 minutes. So we will see how far I get. One thing that has not changed is my sleep pattern it is 1:45 a.m and I feel wide aawake. It doesn't help that per dr's orders push the caffiene and water. But the day of surgery I was excited and ful of hope (stupidtity) thinking all my problems would be gone once I woke up from surgery. Oooh no I inherited a whole other bag. The soreness for the surgery belly and back were bad the first day but got better I still don't walk upright but well on my way. The throat was raw for 2 day from the breathing tube I guess they just shove it in there how even it fits but that has pretty much passsed. The new kid on the block is this LOW PRESSURE headache which is a motha!! I don't know which one is worst the high or the low? Better yet the low is worst because I have learnt to deal with the high over the past 10 mths, the low on the other hand is horrible. At times I want to kill myself, my boyfriend and the dog, plus a neighbor.Spending the day laying down is okay for a day or two but now I am going crazy. Better yet per dr lay down and increase you caffiene intake, that is very difficult to be still. Since I am about 4 bays post op I am able to make runs to the bathroom without the head about to blow off, but the first 2 days I could barely sit up to go to bathroom. Now I plan my potty and whatever breaks have pain meds in me lay down for 2 hr so I can get up for 15-20 minutes. I was told when you go from a high pressure like mine to a normal range which my shunt is set at between 5-8 you will get the headaches, but the killing part is it could be a couple of days like this or  up to couple of weeks!!  Just my luck I would be a couple of weeks girl. I gotta cut this one short up for to long..
