Hi, My name is Sue and I have a mental illness. That's how I need to introduce myself to the world of "outsiders". I'm 45 and have had problems with this all my life. I have adult ADD, had childhood ADD and graduated:) I also have been diagnosed with bipolor, depression, and recently borderline personality disorder, which I knew I had all along but had to wait for the Dr. to actually say it. I have a VERY hard time keeping a job for any length of time which makes it very hard on my partner. My counsler has told me to apply for disability so I am but don't know if I'll get it. We'll see.

Interests
I live on a farm in upstate NY about 45 miles SW of Buffalo. I LOVE animals and anything to do with the outdoors. My partner and I have a kennel and raise boston terriers, shih tzus and toy rat terriers. They are all our kids and talk about spoiled:)! One of my hobbies is raising exotic poultry. I have several breeds of chickens, turkeys, ducks, peafowl, well, you get the idea. we always do alot of canning every year from the garden. I'm very grounded and try to live very simply.

Close Bipolar Disorder
I am a 45 year old woman who has been in the grips of mental illness my whole life. I have been diagnosed with adult ADD, bipolar,depression and just recently borderline personality. I am stable..for now.
Treatments
- Abilify Not Working
- This made me bounce off the walls. Couldn't sleep. I was very shaky.
- Ativan Not Working
- I was on this for a short period and was hospitalized because I became VERY violent on it.
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Working / Worked
- I just started this 3 months ago after being dianosed with borderline. It WORKS!!! I can't reccommend it enough.
- Group Therapy Working / Worked
- This has helped me a lot. Just to know that I am not alone makes me feel better.
- Lamictal Working / Worked
- Been on it 3 months and it is working.
- Seroquel Not Working
- I took 2 doses of this and could not get out of bed. I slept for 3 days.
Close Back Pain
Hi, I have several health problems and back pain is just one but boy, it sure can keep you down. I was in a MVA back in 2000 and I haven't been the same. All the tests say "there's nothing wrong". Oh yeah, couldn't prove it by me!!
Treatments
- Bedrest Somewhat Helpful
- I take my pain meds and go to bed until they work.
- Cortisone (Injection) Not Working
- I had this done in 2001. It did nothing.
- Darvon Working / Worked
- Has worked in the past but recently it is not helping much.
- Heat Working / Worked
- It works sometimes.
- Ibuprofen Somewhat Helpful
- I take 800mg and if that does not work I take my other meds
- Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- I have no insurance to cover it anymore.
