I am a divorced, 45 year old with a 19 year old daughter. It is my daughter's first year at college and it is also my first year! I suffer from bipolar II, depression, hypothyroidism, and diabetes. I've been insulin dependent since my 20's. Hearing loss is an issue for me at times since I am 100% deaf in one ear, but I manage. Menopause gives me fits at times and with the other issues I have, I never know which condition is causing what problem at the time. I hope to find some friends and support on daily strength. My favorite poem: (Henry Longfellow) "Success"

Hello! I have similar problems. I have found that relying only on a pill to fix things DOES NOT WORK. I am proof that a healthy body makes a healthy mind. There's more to feeling well then taking pills. EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE!! Get in the sun, work out, eat right, sleep well. Medication is only one of the steps to living a healthy life.

I developed seizures in 1997 after having a tumor removed and it leaving lesions on the brain.
I was born with a cholesteatoma which has stolen my hearing completely in my right ear. The tumor keeps coming back and they will never be able to cure it. Thankfully, I only have to have it removed every few years. It has wreaked havoc with my balance.
I started menopause early due to surgery. It is still a pain in the butt.
I suffered from disassociation and not being able to even identify emotions. I grew up in a therapist office after many years of visits. The therapist helped to make a major change in my life.
