Hi I am 35 years old and was diagnosed with genetic chiari malformation 1 about six months ago. I was experiencing near fainting spells, and excruciating debilitating headaches that lasted 3 days! So my doctor ordered a MRI and that is how they found out I have ACM. The thing that frustrates me the most is that my whole life I have had symptoms and doctors failed to run the "important tests" and always told me it was in my head..ironically it is, but not in the crazy way..I am not crazy!!
I have ACM and get debilitating migraines that last me 3 days...recently been prescribed Topomax but insurance wont cover prescription even though doctor has repeatedly told my insurance company that I need it! I also suffer from body aches, neck pain, shoulder pain, burning sensations in my shoulder blades and leg pain
