What a beautiful baby son you have! The factor level does not change. I also hoped it would when my Nathan, who has severe hemophilia, was a baby. But trust me your son will grow into a great lad and then a fantastic lad like my Nathan who is now 29 and has one sister and three brothers. Take sensible precautions but do not overprotect him. If you saw my amazing son(You can see his photo on the cover of "Missing Factor" by Marie Berger on Amazon) you would be encouraged not to be fearful for his future. I wish you every enjoyment that your little one can bring you and will happily try to answer any questions you may have from my own personal experience, if I can. Feel free to email me: marieberger75@hotmail.com

My son will be 15 soon. He wasn't Dx'd until age 2. I freaked out because it doesn't run in our family. I wish I could convience you that you'll have a good life. If you son is anywhere close to being the blessing that mine is, relax, learn, and love him. You will be able to do what you need to do. I promise!

Hey, no problem. Ask your doctor about support groups and camps. I'm from Michigan and the foundations and pharmacies here promote outings and get-togethers for families with this disorder. There are also camps for children with counselors that have bleeding disorders themselves. There is so much support out there for families like ours. My son now has a port in his chest for his infusions 3x a week and believe me, it has helped a lot. With the factor in his system all the time, there are less worries about injuries. It takes time to adjust, but you will. Until your son starts to move around and get into things, you have it easy. Take this time to relax and do your research and everything will be ok. If you have any questions or if I can be of help, just pm me. Best wishes. Shannon
