Close Breast Cancer
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 while incarcerated - DCIS in my right breast and LCIS in my left. I had a bilateral lumpectomy, followed by 6 wks radiation for the DCIS. I am a happy 4 yr. survivor!
Treatments
- Nolvadex Working / Worked
- At first, I was hesitant to take it because of possible bad side effects, such as the increased risk of cervical cancer. I just have more frequent pap smears.
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- Because of my status at the time (incarcerated), going for the necessary radiation treatments were difficult and humiliating: handcuffed and shakled, etc.
- Surgery Working / Worked
- I had a bilateral lumpectomy in 2005.
