About Me
I am an Afro-American female, 56 yrs. old and I didn't find out I was adopted until I went to replace my lost birth certificate. My parents are deceased I am an only child. I took the wrong road early in life, and since 2003 I have given my life to Christ. I am now attending college, since 2004, and by God's grace I am still on the planet. I would like to be a chemical dependency counselor someday, because my passion is helping other less fortunate people , with addictions,

I wld deeply appreciate it. the dr have found this a rare form of cancer my sis has so she needs the P.E.T scan so the dr can see just how agressive and where its at BUT the ins co. wont pay! They have considered divorce but she makees to much money for meicaid and not old enough for medicare so without the ok from the ins co she will die. as this is agressive and has appt Feb 2nd just to see how they are coming with the ins. Dec 9th they did a biopsy but now it is so big they can feel in by hand. pls keep praying shee has worked since 16 now age 62 she deserves this!

Close Thyroid Cancer
Type: Papillary CarcinomaHi everyone; I am a 56 yr.old afro-american female, who has had bouts with different illnesses in later years, such as colon polyps, uterine hyperplasia, and now thyroid cancer after a near-total thyroidectomy. Next week I'm off to the clinic for treatment. It will be a 4-day nightmare and then some with radioactive iodine, and thyrogen injections, but I'm sure God didn't bring me through all the surgeries and illness I've had for nothing. I like helping other people, hope to go into missions
Treatments
- Thyroidectomy Working / Worked
- The surgery wasn't as bad as I thought, I had a very good doctor. The radioactive iodine treatments and thyrogen injections is what I'm anxious about. bon56
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- I just think sometimes my condition could have been a lot worse, I could have waited too late to get surgery and treatments. I might not have been here. So, even on my worst days, I try somehow to make it my best day, because I have faith that God works miracles, and through all the illnesses & surgeries I have been through, I'm still here. bon56
