Close Bipolar Disorder

I have bipolar disease with extreme rapid cycling. It came on after a major depressive episode of 2 years and PTSE. I was diagnosed as psychotic and made 4 serious suicide attempts before finally being diagnosed.

Treatments

Abilify Not Working

Gained way too much weight.

Depakote Working / Worked

only on it for 2 weeks. Seems to be helping at a dose of 1000 mg

Geodon Not Working

This drug brought on severe hallucinations for me.

Lamictal Working / Worked

It is hard too tell which medicine is keeping things semi under control. I take 150 mg twice a day.

Seroquel Working / Worked

Still taking in combination with other meds. Makes me really hungry when I take it at night. On a dose of 900 mg, but tapering back to 600 mg as I change from Trileptal to Depakote.

Trileptal Somewhat Helpful

I am just coming off this drug. It is being replaced with depakote.

Zyprexa Not Working

This made me more manic.

Klonopin Working / Worked

Taking mostly for panic attacks First line of defense against pre-manic episodes until I can see the doctor. 3 mg a day up to 6 mg for mania.

Prozac Not Working

I took this right before I was diagnosed with BP. I felt much better for about 3 weeks. Then I started feeling more depressed.
