Close Addison's Disease
My son has been on 11 psych meds in 12 months! The Addison's symptoms were diagnosed as drug side effects, UNTIL he went onto Renal Failure. He has been through hell.

- Cortisol Working / Worked
- I was wondering if anyone had experience with Addison's and urinary incontinence? For the last year before diagnosis he had had urinary incontinence which really messes with depression and self esteem. Anyone noticed a difference in this regard after beginning treatments?

Close Alcoholism
I am from a small town in Oregon and have been sober 4 years. I began my recovery journey at 19 and am now 46!

- In my experience, the only thing that works is continued contact with other alcoholics/addicts. I once have several years of sobriety then became complacent!
- AA Meetings Working / Worked
- In the past I have found online support to be helpful in addition to face to face meetings!
Open Depression
I am a recovering alcoholic with depression and anxiety issues. Sober four years! BUT thinkink of going off Effexor......

- Effexor Working / Worked
- Effexor XR.225 mg. Not sure it is still working. Would like some experience, strength and hope.
Open Anxiety
Coming down from Effexor and having nasty side effects. Am hoping to wean off everything and use a more effective behavioral approach.

- Breathing Exercises Somewhat Helpful
- Helps when I remember! I do teach yoga which reminds me to breathe.
- Meditation Working / Worked
- Works WHEN I practice!
- Positive Thinking Somewhat Helpful
- I have been trying to put positive spins on negative situations and experiences. So far this is helping although it needs to become habitual.
- Xanax Not Working
- I tend to abuse this and need to stay away.
- Elavil Too Soon to Tell
- Am only using this during Effexor withdrawals. 10 mgnight
- Massage Working / Worked
- Very helpful WHEN I can schedule it.
