This has been the strangest day.Yesterday I got an email from a girl who took me to an antistigma meeting in lansing 3 weeks ago.Yesterday she sent me a bunch of emails telling me she got bedbugs and I was infected too.I had never heard of bedbugs and called my psychosocial clubhouse director and told her about the emails because I was worried this girl had paranoia or delusions. This morning I was sent home from the clubhouse and told it was a policy they couldn't have me there. I was shocked and upset and called my casemanager in tears. I couldn't believe they sent me home!! This is my therapy. About 2 hours later they came to pick me up saying there were no bedbugs. The staff read a paper about bedbugs and said there was a scare without mentioning my name. I was so furious though,I was trying to do the right thing by getting this girl help I thought and I got suspended? I don't get it.I'm still furious though i'm being quiet.I am very clean and don't understand how I could get it from a car. Please help me with my anger towards the clubhouse and their "policies." I am trying to hide my anger and just not talk about it.

lol...so i guess i should not say domn't let the bed bugs bite....lol...hun, bedbugs are common......everyone gets them or has them around. You'd be surprised how common they are....they are so tiny and you can't see them with the naked eye. All they really do is make ya itchy....nothing to worry about dear....

That is just too funny. Banned because of bedbugs? Seemed like the clubhouse would have had more sense. This is one of those times that later you will be able to look back on this one and just laugh.

yes bed bugs are real. are they dangerous? no. are they contagious? no. replace your mattress every couple years and remember to flip it every couple months. it's no lice. sounds like the people at your club house think it's lice.

Dear Nicolea,
I had heard that bed bugs had made a huge comeback in New York City so they are a very real threat. Instead of just swallowing the anger maybe you could launch a project to find out about how bedbugs are transferred so that no one else ever be needlessly embarrassed. Eric

Wow! Well, vent here and choose carefully who you vent to there. I do think it is appropriate that you vent. It is a normal, healthy reaction to that experience. Sorry you went through that.

That must have really hurt. I agree, they probably were thinking bed bugs are like lice, which a person MUST be sent home for. People are just stupid sometimes.
