Close Renal Cell Carcinoma (Kidney Cancer)
On Dec. 01,2008 I went to the doctor with unrelated abdominal pains, caused by an intestinal blockage. They found that and a suspicious mass on my right kidney. The VA hospital in Atlanta moved very fast, it seems. My right kidney was removed on Dec. 29, 2008 and it appears they got all the cancer with it.
Treatments
- Nephrectomy Working / Worked
- Some abdominal pain for a few days but all in all, I feel pretty good.
Close Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
I have PTSD from service in Vietnam Feb., 1968 - Feb., 1969. Denied it until I was diagnosed (unwillingly) in 1995

Open Sleep Apnea
I was diagnosed with sleep apnea 2 years ago. I use a CPAP but it is difficult in the summer when it is hot and humid. With the mask over my face I am reminded too much of the weather in Vietnam.
Treatments
- CPAP Working / Worked
- With all my complaints it still does the job and I continue to use the CPAP.
