Close Pseudotumor Cerebri
I have had Pseudotumor Cerebri for a little over a year now (that I know of). I suspect I have had it longer than that. I have suffered from Severe Chronic Migraines since 2005. I went to a local eye exam location to get a new contacts prescription and that's where my papilladema was recognized. I was sent to the ER at the VA hospital (I am a 4 year USN vet). There, they did 2 CT's and ordered an MRI and admitted me into the hospital. CT's and MRI were normal. Spinal Tap confirmed diagnosis.
Treatments
- Acetazolamide Somewhat Helpful
- SO MUCH PAIN STILL!
Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I was diagnosed over a year ago and my gynecologist gave me Yasmin. Still having some infrequent pain.
Treatments
- Oral Contraceptives Considering
Open Back Pain
I was told that my pain was a result of PTC (Pseudotumor Cerebri). Come to find out, I have 2 herniated discs and a pinched nerve. Next step: Seeing a Neurosurgeon.
Treatments
- Cortisone (Injection) Somewhat Helpful
- This helps temporarily, but it depends on where it is injected. It has only been injected into the "right spot" once.
- Flexeril Not Working
- This didn't help at all.
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- I respond to heat. A hot shower makes my neck feel good for a few minutes. A heating pad only works for the first few minutes.
- Hydrocodone Not Working
- This didn't help at all.
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- This doesn't help at all.
- Naproxen Not Working
- This doesn't help at all.
- Relaxation Not Working
- This doesn't help at all.
- Indocin Working / Worked
- This stuff is the only thing that leads to any relief whatsoever.
Open Migraine Headaches
I've had migraines since 2002. They are only getting worse as time goes on.
Treatments
- Botulin Toxin Working / Worked
- This worked for me when injections were in my forehead, temples, spine, and shoulders. It didn't work when injections were only in forehead and temples.
- Imitrex Not Working
- I used to take Imitrex (pills and injections). I also had to take pheregren for nausea. Sleep was more helpful than the meds.
- Naproxen Somewhat Helpful
- I take Naproxen after a migraine.
- Zomig Working / Worked
- This is what Im currently taking.
- Sleep Working / Worked
- If I dont sleep it doesnt go away.
