Tuesday, October 6, 2009 | A Call For Help story

I talked to my sister today and she thinks I should see a Nephrologist. I see my Urologist on Wednesday for a follow up on some bladder issue.  My bladder is not empting so they want to follow up on it.  I was going to ask him about seeing a Nephrologist.  Does everyone with RCC see a Nephrologist? I have another question....my margins werent clear after surgery, should I have had chemo or radiation? My Urologist did the surgery and we didnt do anything afterwards because he said RCC does not respond to chemo. I just want to make sure I am making the right choice.  I know it has been almost a year but I have had some pain in that area and difficulty with my bladder. I would just like to know what you guys think.  Thanks.......Margie

My husband is not being followed by a nephrologist. He worked with a urologist and oncologist following his neprectomy, and was also given the information that traditional chemotherapy and radiation therapy are not effective in RCC. Are you seeing an oncologist at all? We found that helpful... Karen
