I have been having some problems going pee and there was blood in my urine. I made an appointment with the Urologist and he was very unhappy. He said my bladder is not empting. He did a sonogram and determined that even after I emptied my bladder it was still holding urine. So he put on FLOMAX. YES I KNOW......it is for men with enlarged prostates. I guess it will help me with this muscle down there to help empty. He also gave me an antibiotic to take when I have sex. He gave me my 1 year follow up stuff and that includes a chest xray. That scared me. Why do I need a chest xray? Anyway he was unhappy that my PCP had not been checking me regularly for my kidney function and my urine for any blood or other stuff so I am changing PCP. My PCP also has me Topamax whick causes kidney stones. So I am stopping that. I am really irritated with my treatment.

I hate that you are having these problems. Like your doctor, I can't imagine a PCP not checking your kidney function and urine routinely. Thank the Lord it's been found now!
We were very dissappointed in our oncologist, during Ray's terrible ordeal and three week stay in the hospital. I'm so thankful that I called a nephrologist in.
Sometimes, we have to take our medical care into our own hands. I'm proud of you, and pray that the Flomax will solve this problem.
Never hesitate to "vent". That's why we're all here for eachother.

Hi Margi,
it's so good to vent, your getting rid of the bad stuff to make room for the good things that will be coming your way... You obviously needed a one yr check up and an exray goes with it especially where your pcp wasn't doing anything for folllow up care and you should get a new pcp to make sure your kidney funtion is ok on a regular basis....Do you know why your pcp has you on Topamax ?? I know Topamax or Tobimax is for depression, if i am talking about the the same drug, which i could be mistaken...Margie getting to vent os a good thing get it out and start filling the space with good positive thing is very healthy way to go about this...
