I was a foster parent for Santa Clara county. I have had 49 chilren come though my home. I am in the process of adopting my 3rd special needs child. She has CF. Due to her special needs and the special needs of my 4 year old, we are going to be a normal family and will no longer be doing foster care.

Close Cystic Fibrosis
I am in the process of adopting a little girl who has CF. She will be 1 in February. In October, she had a feeding tube put in. At 3 weeks old she was in the hospital fighting lung infections. It is so hard finding parents with other kids with CF. To share our experiences.
Treatments
- ADEKs Multivitamin Working / Worked
- ok but messy
- Chest Percussion Working / Worked
- I even do it when she's upset. It calms her down.
- Creon Working / Worked
- wish they could find an easier way. We currently give it to her with grape jelly.
- Duoneb Working / Worked
- we switch between TOBI and Dueneb, seems to help. Keeps her lungs healthy and out of the hospital.
- MucoMyst Working / Worked
- Seems to be helping. Keeps her lungs healthy and out of the hospital.
- ThAIRapy Vest Considering
- She should be getting it soon. Would be nice to talk to parents whos children currently has it.
- TOBI Somewhat Helpful
- we switch between TOBI and Duoneb. seems to help. Keeps her lungs healthy and out of the hospital.
- Prevacid Working / Worked
- Helps her to keep her digest her food better.
