Close Psoriasis
I have had psoriasis for more than 50 years, and also have psoriatic arthritis. My psoriasis has ranged from a few spots to about 75% of my body. I don't mind the redness and scales so much as I do the itching! My arthritis has been termed a relatively mild case, affecting my hands, knees, wrists, hips and neck.
Treatments
- Betamethasone (Topical) Somewhat Helpful
- the last time I used this treatment on my scalp, my hair fell out, so I have not tried it again. I don't remember the last time I tried it on the rest of my body.
- Coal Tar Working / Worked
- Has worked well for me in the past, especially MG17, but lately it has increased the itching.
- Dermarest Somewhat Helpful
- Stronger solutions, such as Salex appear to be more helpful, but this is a good addition to other treatments for me.
- Dovonex Working / Worked
- this has been the most helpful, but has not cleared the scales or redness entirely.
- Enbrel Considering
- Hydrocortisone Somewhat Helpful
- I get some relief, but not complete.
- Phototherapy Working / Worked
- this used to work well, but after developing basal cell carcinoma on my nose and scalp, I don't do it anymore.
