    • Close Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML)

Hello Everyone: I'm new to this group, to cancer to everything. On November 17, 2008 my mom was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and has been given 3 months. Due to her age, she was also told by her oncologist that she would probably not survive the chemo. So we are doint supportive care. I'm researching what to expect. I'm new at this, and I'm wanting to know what to expect. Has anyone else been in this situation? Thank you

      Supportive Care Working / Worked
Her blood is drawn weekly by an excellent healthcare worker and faxed to her physician. We did get good news 2 weeks ago her white count was up to 10.6 then last week was 10.1. Her dr. is amazed she is doing this well. Her blast is 21. Shes holding her own.
