Well I had cervical E injection done and it lasted only 5 days ...so I am not sure if that avenue is an option. I see my neuro surgeon tis week …

retired business owner, 3 professional children, 6 "great" grandchildren, strength is recieved one day at a time from sveral sources, alot of my passions are things that I cannot do any more so I have taken new ones like reading. I have always been very positive however I have realized that chronic pain can really get you down..you just have to keep up the fight and will to survive as comfortably as possible.

Here's to wishing you some pain free days. I have been there, and I know it is hard. It sounds like you are facing some very difficult decisions and I wish you hope and strength. sorry to hear about the extent of your pain, but glad at the same time to have someone who has 'been there' to talk turkey to! I wish you some pain free hours till I talk to you again!

P.S. Have you checked out the Chronic Pain support group? It's a bit more active than the back pain group and you will find tons of supportive, caring people there!

IN 6/08 had a DISEC/metal fusion.. great postop until 5 days out of hosp my heart stopped. major fall. req pace maker. horrific pain Oct 08 I had a CT scan all but 3 of my spinal discs had herniation and stenosis, spondylosis and facet disease. Wat a mess.
Treatments
- Bedrest Working / Worked
- works a bit but I am an active person
- Carisoprodol Working / Worked
- 350mg 3x day works better but I still have major charlie horses even in bladder and bowel
- Epidural Injection Working / Worked
- going today for cervical ESI. my ins allows only one shot at a time and one site at a time. So I will let you know.
- Fentanyl Working / Worked
- working some at 75 patch every 48 hours
- Flexeril Working / Worked
- did not work
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- 10/325mg up to 4 a day for back up pain. use all four.
Close Chronic Pain
I had a fusion of C5C6 in 2/08.Five days postop had comp my heart stopped.I went unconscious on marble tile injuring 8 more discs.. Had to have immediate cardiac pacemaker put in and have been dealing with severe pain ever since. My neuro surgeon is not anxious to do anymore surgery and basically I have been in pain management for near a year.

- it works for back up at times. I have been on it 2 yrs
- Lyrica Working / Worked

- worked after surgery

- worked for 5 days could only have 1 @ a time (ins)
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- dd not work
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- dr says I am not ready for that yet ??
- Carisoprodol Working / Worked
- works better than any other muscle relax for spasms but not totally
