    • Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
      Type: Relapsing-remitting MS

DX'd in 2005. Tried Rebif, Copaxone, & Novantrone but could not tolerate. Currently on Tysabri infusions once per month.

      Treatments

      Baclofen Working / Worked
I guess it did help the symptoms, however it made me so sick that I can no longer take it.
      Copaxone Not Working
My body could not tolerate this, had to switch to Tysabri as last resort.
      Novantrone Working / Worked
Once I got over the side effects (5 weeks but worth it) this helped me feel much better. I'd say this was by far the BEST treatment out of all I have tried, however you cannot be on this long due to the low white blood cell count. I could only get one dose due to the long recovery time I had. But if you can tolerate this, and not have anyone sick around you while you're recovering, this stuff really helps!
      Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
Had PT after a very bad relapse in 2006. It did help with the balance issues quite a bit.
      Prednisone Not Working
YUCK...bad, bad stuff for me. No thanks!
      Provigil Working / Worked
I take this for fatigue. I seem to be getting immune to now though, or it is just not helping as much as it used to.
      Rebif Not Working
This was my first med in 2005. My body did not like it, and Dr. took me off after about a year.
      Solumedrol Working / Worked
Only PRN for relapses, other than the weight gain, it does help!
      Swimming Working / Worked
Swimming is a great exercise for me with the MS. It really helps me with the muscle weakness and overall stamina.
      Tysabri Working / Worked
I think it is helping...not sure yet, have only had 7 infusions to date, and missed a few months due to military getting my records messed up. During which time, I had 2 new lesions show up after a relapse, but since then no new ones. Will update at a later time =)
