Enrollment Manager at local university, married, 6 wonderful grandchildren, Jesus is my Lord. I was diagnosed with Neurocardiogenic Syncope (NCS) 2 years ago and take Atenolol to control fainting- join our DS Group at http://dailystrength.org/groups/neurocardiogenic-syncope. I have Inflammatory Arthritis and take prescription meds to help with the pain and inflammation. Carpal tunnel and migraines are along for the ride, unfortunately.

Interests
My K-2 Sunday School class, social networking, watching movies and certain TV shows with my husband and family (grandbabies, too). I used to play the violin but with carpal tunnel and RA, I am now unable. So, I listen and share what I know with others.

Thanks for the hug. I had a major episode in the doctors office 1 1/2 weeks ago while I was getting my trigger point injections. My father had an episode at the funeral home July 3 and everybody thought he was dying. They had the ambulance come and get him and all. I don't know if it runs in families, or if ppl have 1 episode and no more????

hm I just found somepone from elkart a few minutes ago. I grew up in mishawaka but I was BORN in huntington. Is 904 Jefferson st. still there or did they destroy the castle.

Close Rheumatoid Arthritis
Diagnosed with RA July 2007 Took prednisone and Plaquenil for 6 mo., now- Plaquenil, Vicodin, and Neurontin. I have had setbacks with pain in joints, bursitis in hips, and carpal tunnel in both wrists for the last several months. Have muscle aches in neck, shoulders, legs and pain just under the skin. I just switched my Rheumy and see a new one in April. I also have Neurocardiogenic Syncope since June 2006 although I probably had RA for that long too. Have Carpal Tunnel and Migraines, also.
Treatments
- Heat Working / Worked
- I use an electric blanket at night, stopped having leg cramps. I also use it while sitting in my rocker in front of the tv, like now. Works wonders.
- Hydroxychloroquine Working / Worked
- has worked for the last year and a half, having my doubts now, but maybe I am in a flare?
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- love it! no pain while on it for 6 months, side effects were possible weight gain, so I was on a strict diet. Felt good.
- Tramadol Considering
- Doctor put me on Vicaden.
- Tylenol Somewhat Helpful
- usually have to take 3 200 mg tabs to get benefits. Ibuprofen helps more.
Close Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
I have RA and 1 1/2 years later I got Carpal Tunnel. My RA doc says that it is related to the RA.
Treatments
- Wrist Splint Working / Worked
- I use it on both wrists when I sleep. Wouldn't be able to function during the day otherwise.
Open Fibromyalgia
I have fibromyalgia and want to learn from others.
Treatments
- Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
- I use a hot water bath and it helps
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- So far, it has helped.
- Heat Working / Worked
- helps at times
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- helps me sleep and stopped the restless leg syndrome

- this helps
