Hello Friends:
Well, after undergoing lumbar nerve blocks and trigger point shots, I found out from my neurosurgeon that the pain mgt. doc should have never done the trigger point shots, as I am not allowed to have ANY anti-inflammatories until the fusion is healed. UGH! And...the pain mgt. doc never told me he doesn't work with the thoracic spine, after telling me in my initial consultation that he 'believes in treating the entire spine', thus, the lumbar nerve blocks, which I feel I didn't need! Ugh!
Anyway, I saw another pain mgt. specialist on Wednesday. He believes I have received terrible care. He will do a thoracic epidural w/catheter procedure on May 5. And, barring no problems, I can return to work on May 12th. It will be 5 months to the day (May 12) that I have been off work. I am praying that this treatment works so I can feel comfortable at work.
That's about it...praise God for working in my life. He knows best. And will work on my behalf.

I commend your faith as you have gone through your painful journey. Only the Lord can help us, and all healing comes from Him. Blessings, LDJ

That's too bad that you had to go through the incompetency of the first doctor. I pray that this new doc will be able to get you back to feeling good. I had a cortisone shot once in my lower spine and it went badly. The doc hit a nerve and I felt like an electric shock run down my leg into my big toe. I couldn't walk for 5 days after without having excruciating pain. I will keep you in my prayers for this new procedure to work for you. :) Cheryl
